There's this song that I love. It's called "Dream". In the song, the singer talks about the dreams she had as a little girl, and it makes me think. As a little girl, I had dreams, many dreams. Dreams of a career that would whisk me off from city to city. Dreams of singing on a stage to a full crowd. Dreams of being an attorney arguing a case. The list could go on and on. As I've grown, I fulfilled some of those dreams. Over time though my dreams have been altered. Not in the worst kind of way, but shifted to meet a new focus and new target - family.
My family has become the world to me, as it should or I'd suppose you'd be contacting CPS. I've found that as I've become a mother, and a mother to not one, but two children plus a wife, that my family's happiness is my dream and I'll follow that dream anywhere. I understand though that in many ways this is a season. As a mom to a teen and a preschooler, I get to see both sides of the parenting coin. I see the teen slowly starting to drift away. So, I know that as my preschooler grows up and doesn't want "mommy to do things anymore" the teen gene will kick in for him too, and my dreams will once again change. Isn't it amazing to know that everything has a season, and new seasons mean new opportunities and new explorations. Hence the rediscovery of my blog.
I've started blogs previously and didn't keep up, but the season of this dream is now. I hope you'll join me on this new adventure during this season as I blog about my teen, preschooler, marriage, our finances, you name it. Hopefully everything but the kitchen sink - wisdom from a to z. My goal is to make you laugh, maybe cry, definitely think twice about your next move as you learn from my mistakes, and above all love where you are in the season of your dreams/life.
Check in often, as this season is just beginning! Do you have any dreams or dream changes you'd like to share?
